I am wondering what the best way to go about painting my RAM would be? I plan on getting the ADATA 32gb DDR4 kit, however, they do not come in a color that would match my build (black and white) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211913&cm_re=ddr4-_-20-211-913-_-Product
Remove the heatsinks of course since thats what you are painting. In order to do so a hairdryer will do the trick. Warm it up but be mindful not to get it blazing hot and the heatsinks should be fairly easy to remove, usually thermal adhesive is what keeps the heatsink on the chips. Be very gentle and take your time with this process, don't want to rip the tape.
After removal you should prime the heatsinks, (you can do just the outer parts). Followed by the actual paint. Now like I said I am not an expert on spray paint but I used a flat white paint that was multi surface compatible. Spray them is short even bursts dry repeat. There are plenty of tips and tricks on how to get the best coverage online. Also I do recommend a flat colored paint, there are glossy paints that you can use, just make sure that they can withstand the heat or else cracks and lines will appear.
After the desired amount of paint is on the heatsinks you can re apply them back onto the modules. Most ram heatsinks have a clip on the ends that keeps them together so make sure that those aline correctly. I would recommend buying some thermal tape or thermal glue in the event of messing up the original thermal compound.
Keep the sticks out of your pc and make sure they are attached securely, last thing you want is a metal heatsink falling down on your motherboard or the exposed back of your graphics card.
Like I said I am not a pro at this but I've done it enough with plenty of success. Be paitent and do your research. Plenty of pc mod forums out there.
Enjoy :)
Used to have blue corsair vengeance, also the motherboard shroud is painted as well.
