I guess that was the point I was making about it wearing from use as not being good. Although removable is good. FWIW, I never painted the bike after more research. It wasn't meant to be permanent... but still last longer than a few weeks before it started to look like shit.
IIRC AkzoNobel has silicone based paints for offshore applications (as harsh as it gets). That stuff will last on a motorcycle through the crash.
Other than painting it, if you're handy with electronics and soldering iron, I would swap out those green status LEDs for blue or white ones.
