P1600X 118GB as a Boot Drive?

Hey 'yall, quick question. Using the p1600x optane as a boot device, is it just plug and play?

The specific use case will be WIndows 11 running on Alderlake with a Z690 motherboard. I feel like it is just plug and play but this is my first foray in the Intel Optane sphere. Thanks a bunch!

Yeah, you can just install an OS on it like any other NVME drive

you can, but you’d probably be better off using it as a cache drive as SSDs get slower the more full they are and 118GB is not a lot to start with

powercfg.exe -h off
in the command prompt ran as an administrator will disable the unused hibernation function in windows since it uses a hybrid hibernation, this frees up a few GB
