Overclocking

Post your overclocks here, im about to start OC'ing my CPU since its cold as fuck now, gonna get it to 4GHZ :D

CPU and GPU overclocks Vantage scores ETC...

Not only post what speed your running at but also post voltages etc, so it helps out some people who are "new" to Overclocking.

Also post whats keeping your CPU nice and cold.

Ill go first...

Q6600 on a EVGA 780i FTW

Watercooled

Rad: Thermochill PA120.3

Block: Swiftech Apogee GTZ

Pump: Swiftech MCP655

Res: EK Multioption 150

Tubing: Primochill 1/2ID 3/4OD

Liquid: Feser One UV Purple

and just some Bitspower 1/2" barbs.

Will post OC specs later tonight.

My Q6600 has been 3.6ghz stable on air cooling and an AWFUL case since the day i got it. shits extremely easy to get stable.

What voltages you running?

i7 920 @ 4.2GHZ

GTX 280 @ 670/1470/1215

6GB RAM @ 1600MHZ

All watercooled w/ the following:

-Rad= XSPC RX 360

-CPU Block= EK HF Supreme Full Nickel

-Pump= Swiftech D5 w/ aftermarket top

-Res= FrozenQ Liquid Fusion 250mm w/ blood red helix & white cathode

-GPU Block= XSPC Razor 280 copper/acetal

-NB Block= Bloodrage copper block

-Fans= 3x Scythe GTs 1850 rpm

Core i7 920 @ 4.01 GHz (200 x 20, 1.26v)

ThermalRight Venomous X + 2x Noctua NF-S12B fans @ 1200 RPM (push/pull config)

Corsair Dominator 3x 2GB @ 1600 MHz - CL7

GTX 295 @ 666 Core* \m/ - 1506 Shader* - 1260 Memory - Customized fan control - hits 100 C load (Metro 2033)

Stock clocks @ 576 Core - 1242 Shader - 999 Memory

*anything above 720 Core results in BSoD under load. 666 Core is just cool!

**unlinked with Core Clock. (havn't experimented with Shader (or Memory) yet.

Plays every DX10 game maxed up 1680 x 1050. Even Metro 2033 is like 40-100 fps.

oddly mines stable at 1.35v

I'll dust off my case, OC a bit more, then report back.

8| What motherboard you running? I couldn't even get it stable at 1.6v at 3.6ghz. Im at 3.4ghz at 1.4v right now stable.

I think we should post CPUz, it's more legit!

Name me 10 games that would run better if I overclock and maybe I'll feel like doing it.

actaully yeah great idea, every just post that easier then typing out your voltages and shit.

Idle temps at 3.4GHZ, load temps dont go any higher then 35c. And thats running Prime95 for atleast an hour :D

This is about the fun of competition, not so much bettering our gaming performance.

Name me ten games that make good use of a Quad Core CPU. I can think of two.

Video editors, and 3d modeling apps use CPU, that's why I overclock.

I saw no improvement between 3.6Ghz and 2.8Ghz in Vegas, That and I'm not exactly competitive.

Ah, it's just clean fun, but I understand

Need to work on lowering my voltages...but 4.2 stable is 4.2 stable.

Im too lazy to do any benches or get cpuz, but heres a pic from when i first got this rig up and running. long long time ago, soon after that i upped it to 3.6 and was stable on the same voltage, been bringing it down since.

i second this

also

>shitty xfx 8800gt

>still maxes everything @ 1600x1200

>and yet it still runs @ 90c.

Dammit Akimbo, your D0 stepping makes me jealous. I can't get past 3.85.
