Overclocking on an Extreme4

I plan on overclocking my i7 3770k to somewhere around 4.2-4.6 ghz. (Don't worry, I have an H80i for cooling!)

Is the Extreme4 good for overclocking?

if you allready have a Asrock extreme 4 i would say try it... if you have to buy a mobo for overclocking, then i recommend the Msi Z77 Mpower.

I have that motherboard, have my CPU and GPU OC'D no problems to date. No major Oc'ing though.

Has a weaker, poorly cooler VRM, but can go up to 4.4 to even 5.0w depending on your chip. If it doesn't need much voltage, you can go pretty far, but if you really want to OC, I wouldn't recommend buying the Extreme4 new.

till now i did not read bad user reviews about the Extreme 4.  it has a 8+4 powerphase design and  digi vrm, so it should be capable of handle it. If you dont try it you don´t know it, if your system is getting unstable, then you know you have to buy a better mobo, if you want to go higher. ☺
