Hello! I have recently ordered my first computer and was planning on doing some slight overclocking in the future. I have ordered a AMD Fx-6300, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, and of course an Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard. I was hoping to be able to get atleast 4.0 Ghz out of this set up, but i dont know how much having no heat sink on the VRM will effect me overclocking in the future. Thanks!
You really should have gone with the M5A97 R 2.0.
The VRM heatsinks make a difference. You should be able to OC fairly well so long as your case has good airflow. Just keep an eye on it.
