Is there a point?
depends
on Phenom IIs and Athlons overclocking the NB/HT link increases performance a lot
on FX chips it makes no difference at all
on Intel its not possible, atleast not that i know of
So what about on APU's? They need to access RAM quickly for graphics, would this allow more bandwidth to the RAM or no?
i believe the trinity APUs are based off the Phenom II architecture, so probably
@phosgene Could you go into more detail about the overclocking of the NB/HT. I have a 965 BE OCed @ 4GHz with just uping the multiplier. Would I gain more speed/FPS If I drop the multiplier down and OC the FSB?
not quite sure how it would be done on Phenom IIs as i skipped from first gen phenoms to piledriver
but you can probably find a guide on overclock.net
