OS Migration software recommendation

Just a heads up. If anyone is trying to migrate their OS to an SSD (or from one SSD to another) I highly recommend trying Paragon Hard disk manager 14 first.

It was the only program that was able to migrate Win8.1 successfully for me, from my stock Lenovo laptop drive to a 128GB Crucial mSATA SSD in about half an hour...After 12 hours of trying other solutions that continually failed to boot.

Then, today I used it again on my desktop machine to migrate from a 64GB Crucial M4 to a 250GB Samsung 840 and it migrated Win8.1 successfully in under 5 minutes!

So save yourselves the hassle I went through and give this a go. The trial works for migrating the OS also.

I used the bundled samsung migration software when i got my 840 evo to transfer my windows installation and it worked perfectly

Cool. I've never tried it, but I know that it only works with Samsung drives and the drive has to be verified before you can make use of their software features. The Paragon software will work regardless of the brand of drive.

It's especially handy if you want to migrate the OS in a laptop to an mSATA SSD, which allows you to keep the stock drive for storage.
