OS for Banana PI [solved]

I currently have a Banana Pro, and cannot find any up to date OS for it.

All of the official operating systems on the LeMaker website are unsupported version of Linux meaning you are unable to update or install new software.

I have tried the LeMaker forums but got no reply (looks like the community is dead).

Its sad since its a very nice piece of hardware which is let down by software.

Thanks in advance

Armbian does a lot of work to get SoC boards working and fix bugs that occur with some default OS images provided by manufacturers. The Banana Pi boards are notorious for having pretty bad images or nothing usable at all. You can check out their forums for more specific details or if you need to ask any questions.

Thanks. Just installed Ubuntu and everything works out the box.

( It also has the annoying flashing green "heartbeat light disabled by default )

if you happen to want to use a really lightweight OS there always is http://dietpi.com

Thanks Got the banana pi working
