Origin is snooping your files

EA is  looking trough files which have absolutely nothing to do with Origin.

Something is very fishy.

What does steam look like in comparision?

Testing it on my PC and I'm mostly seeing Steam bugging around in the registry and calling valve from time to time. Nothing out of the ordinary.

All I want to do is play Battlefield and Burnout Paradise. That's all I ask of Origin.

But then this? What the heck Origin.

Wasn't this an issue right in the beginning of Origin?

don't buy their stuff... money is the ONLY language these people understand.

It's in their TOS.

If you install Origin, you give them the right (you can't opt-out in any way) to snoop around all day long.

People already knew about this from day 1 and this is why I rarely use Origin (read: uninstalled Origin). I think EA should actually tell people the truth about how Origin was not created because Valve didn't give EA enough freedom (I called bullshit on that) but because EA wanted a DRM ridden anti-piracy citation and lawsuit dispenser

guess I'm going to uninstall origin...

It's looking in your registry. Not poking around your files. a lot of programs look in your registry. It's most likely looking to see if you have any origin/ea games installed already. or if any are in weird locations. Or it could be checking for copyright reasons, to see if you have any cracks or anything.

tl;dr

It's looking at your registry keys, like tons of other programs do. Not your individual files.

No I thought of that. I re installed origin a few mouths back and had some games backed up on the hard drive it  never found them. It does find some steam games if you have them.
