"Oreolake" A Skylake Based Gaming Build

Hell All!

It has been a long time since I did a pc build so I decided to jump into things with a bang so to speak. My last pc build was nothing crazy it was not even modded at all. it was based of the sandy bridge 2500k, I felt the itch to upgrade and thought I would share with you all.

For starters I decided to go with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M full acrylic.
I wanted to do an "oreo" based build because see a lot of black and white builds, but not very many cases (that I've seen) that are black on the outside and white on the inside. Thus the name Oreolake.

After stripping the thing down to the bare bones I masked of the outside of the case as best I could to make sure it remained all black.

The paint I decided to go with was from Lowes, valspar paint primer combo in gloss white.
Iv'e used this paint for other projects and have always been happy with it.

after applying 4 coats I was pretty happy with the outcome however I lost light and decided to finish in the morning with clear coat.

Tomorrow, as long as it doesn't rain I will finish off the painting with clear coats and put everything back together.

Stay tuned for more!

Looks good, do you have any other mods in mind and what will be filling your lovely case?

thanks!,
and as far as mods go I may have one or two in mind that i haven't seen anyone else do just yet.
as far as as components go:

Mobo - asus sabertooth z170s
cpu - Core i5 6600k
ram- 16gb crucial ballistix sport "white camo"
gpu - gigabyte gtx 980ti extreme gaming
ssd- samsung 850 pro
psu - corsair rm850x
cooling - hyper 212x

also will use nzxt hue for lighting.

I'll be painting most things inside white so that led show up better.

Sweet! I'm looking forward to following the progress.

The paint looks pretty good. Probably the lighting, but the bottom most bit of the last picture you posted looks a bit darker than the rest.

there is bad overhead lighting so its casting a shadow...I think,
Just to be sure ill give it another coat of white in the morning before clear coat.

I'm wondering how well gloss paint will look when it's done... I personally would have gone with matte.
Very interested to see how this turns out.

I hope it turns out well, I went with gloss so the leds would show up better. but we will see soon enough.

If you've got one of those work lamps (they're like $35 at home depot) you can cast good light on the surface. I use them when I'm working on my cars paint. That said, if you're in doubt, always a good idea to throw another coat on.

You're doing a swell job so far. For what it's worth, I think it will turn out well.

das fans I'll be using.

some stuff came early!

I prefer Satin when possible. Just a nice balance between gloss and matte.

That being said, the build looks great! I don't like Oreos but damn this is one sexy piece of case.

haha thanks! I'm not a huge fan of oreos but I do enjoy sexy hardware!

Very cool. I like whiteout builds. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

Any plans to paint the PSU or will the shroud/side panel cover it?

I'll most likely keep the psu as is, it will be visible. If I dont like it il paint it too

Time for the unmasking and assembly

unfortunately I had some over spray near the io shield and the expansion slots.
fortunately its the back of the case so its hidden for the most part.

and here it is all put back together

That looks incredible. I'm a little jealous. Scratch that, a lot jealous.

haha, thanks! now I really want to fill it with components !

hey at least its starting to look more like an oreo!

Make sure you wait until the paint cures enough or you'll end up scratching it off.
