Oracle VM VirtualBox on Windows Host doesn't open... At all!

Hey guys,

I’ve recently run into some issues with my VM. Just last week everything was dandy running Ubuntu as a guest OS on my Win10 Host machine when suddenly today it decided to not open at all?

General Info:

  • Windows 10: 10.0.18362 Build 18362
  • Oracle VM VirtualBox: VirtualBox-6.0.12-133076-Win

At the moment I can see it in the windows background processes thusly:

I’ve also disabled both Hypervisor Platform and the Virtual Machine Platform like this:

I’ve tried rolling back to earlier versions of Virtual Box but to no avail; it just seems to not want to even open at all!

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated :slight_smile:

Also feel free to nuke thread or move it elsewhere if needs be, felt this was the most appropriate spot.

Just because i ran into Problems with virtualbox too: Have you enabled WSL? This would cause my VM’s to not start.
Though i always got at least the virtualbox UI…

Yeah I tried enabling/disabling that too, but also nothing. Super weird!

I’m on the same Windows build, but on virtualbox 6.0.14 and have no issues.
Have you tried reinstalling virtualbox completely?
Also, did you restart your Machine after virtualbox installation?

Yeah, I’ve done all the regular protocol (uninstall, restart, install, restart etc. haha); more curious to see if anyone else has had this issue. If not, will try again tomorrow.
