Opinions on Titanfall? [From the Forum]

I've played an hour and I'm already bored, but if you love it please play it for the rest of the beta period, then come back and see if it does degrade fast or if it does have long term playability. I'd be interested to see from someone who likes it.

I've been playing as much as I can over the last 3 days. I'm still not bored of it. I do intend to play as much as I can until the beta ends. Once it ends. I'll definitely post my post-beta impressions.

I'm switching between the forum and a game of Titanfall right now, I'm starting to find a couple interesting things in there but long term, I'm still a no.

I didn't fall for the hype, not once.

Although I may still check it out

Perfectly understandable. I'm not here to change anyone's mind, just to offer up my impressions. Not to mention FPSs have just gotten a bit stale over the years. The last one I played was BF4 but even that was pretty stale.

Basically what Ethanololololololololololololololololoolollooloolol said.  If you don't think the wallrunning/jumping is amazing, you aren't playing the game right.  You have to think in 3D!  Get that maneuver gear out!

Sure titans spawn fast, but they also die fast and aren't all that strong.  I'd argue they're actually weaker than a good player on foot.

OK the guns could have more recoil or spread or whatever, but perhaps they aren't supposed to.  The game plays like a blitzed out game of laser tag on speed and adrenaline pills.  It's a crazy fragfest, where deaths don't really matter, and that's okay with me.

Playing the way that was demonstrated in the trailers is boring.  If you play as a pilot whose sole purpose it to kill titans and hack spectres, then it can be very entertaining.

Going to keep this short. I had no interest in the hype around it tbh, but when I actually played it I quite enjoyed it. Not sure if I'll end up buying it unless they have significantly more features in the final game, but the hour or so I've played so far has been fun, interesting mechanics.

Somebody needs to mod this game into Attack on Titan now. I would buy it in a hearbeat.

Titanfall is a fun game because it has attracted all the noobiest, and most idiotic players you could ever imagine. This makes pub stomping with friends enjoyable in spite of the ping (I live in Australia and have to play on 160+) and the auto-lock bullshit which seems to permeate modern fps. I don't think the bot-pistol is that bad, for the record. It's annoying, but not effective. And you will never see a casual gamer carrying his team with one - or even a team using it to win against people who can actually aim.
As noted in other posts, the skill ceiling is low, and it's quite obviously intentional. Not only have they not made this game for a competitive community, but they've engineered it in every possible way for casual gamers. It is 1000% fun for everyone regardless of skill level, which may not be good if you want a title with a competitive platform, but great for the other 95% of their sales.

In short, this game is all about grinding casual gamers into the dirt, and although it is an interesting concept, and has some really fun and addictive game mechanics, it will never be as challenging or require as much team work as cs, or tf2.
With that said, although it's difficult to compare the two because they are different games in many ways, it has better infantry mechanics and is more fun to play in general than BF4, in my opinion. I will be buying it, but not from origin.

From my experience it is the most fun I've had with a FPS in a LONG time

As a huge battlefield fan, Bf4 was a bigger step back then Bf3...

I feel like it will be held back by the console factor. Too me it looks like Mech Warrior crossed with Brink (yeah the Bethesda Free Running shooter that epic failed). I think it will either be really good or really bad. There isn't really a middleground with EA tittles anymore.

I've been tempted to try it out, but after reading through some opinions, and watching a few gameplay videos, I think I'll stick to my Anti-EA guns.

Now I am hoping for a 2143 release. I would probably buy that day one.

I think its pretty fun. Have the beta on both my PC and Xbox One. Yea it has the CoD feel but a lot of it reminds me of classic arcade shooters like quake and unreal. They are not similar but Titanfall is the closest thing to a fast paced fps right now. Kinda fun bouncing around the map like a maniac. ;)

The game is pretty fun, although I really hope that the game isn't just overhyped and ends up severely lacking in content. I need replayability, like real replayability. Not just hitting max rank and that's the end of it. I tend to only play a game for a number of months then end up leaving it, only to come back months later, some games I don't even touch again for a long time.

Just to point out for you graphics junkies out there like me, remember, ITS A BETA. Of course the graphics are gonna look kinda rubbish.

agreed, i played it for a few hrs and its just boring for me

I was considering it since it looks like a good CoD but with mechs and parkour and other cools things, but I was only going to get it if it had cross-platform play so I can still play with my friends who go the XBone and whale on them and other controller-tards.  But it's not going to have it, and it is still EA and I still haven gotten other the pile of feces that was BF4, so not getting another EA game for a while.
