For anyone that has read the book, is this a good book? I am being forced to read this over the summer, so I am wondering if this book is at least decent so I don't have to suffer all the way through.
It's apparently a very sad book and all of my friends have thoroughly enjoyed it (one cried).
I haven't read it myself but I have heard very good things about it, it's not my kind of book.
Yeah I read the book now, it is very sad, and yeah, not my type of book, but it is very good for what it is.
If you're a 14 year old girls, I think you would have loved it!
All John Green's work come across as pure calculated Young Adult Lit money earners, rather than anything of sincere merit or art IMHO.
I personally agree with you. All of his stories have very similar plotlines, sort of like Korean dramas (I hope no one gets offended by this haha). It's the only reason I haven't read any of his books and I don't think I ever will.
Yeah... I didn't like the book much at all... It will be fine if you were a 14 year old who reads shitty romantic novels or have a fetish for good looking people who are overly metaphoric or poetic and also happen to have had their leg chopped off.
You just summed up my sister :L The book is shit. I havent read it but my sister is one of those people who just talks and talks like I give a shit and the book sounds very "demographicly aimed" Its a book that they will read and feel like a grown up and discuss because they want to sound intellectual.
I had to force myself to read it... As soon as I got 3 quarters through the book I couldn't handle it anymore. It just wasn't for me.
I was recommended it by a friend who is a fan-boy of VlogBrothers, the book was shit.
Twilight level of bad romance and it tries the cancer card to try and make it sad.
