I am thinking of changing out my TP-Link TLWR1043ND stock firmware for DD-WRT or OpenWRT. I have a little experience with DD-WRT and I am also intrigued by this OpenWRT. If anyone can shed some light on it for me, that would be great!

I've never had the ambition to try it, but I've heard good things about OpenWRT, for what it's worth.
Ummmm I'd check that your router is compatible, as it is not with DD-WRT
