OpenSSL Local Host Certificate Generation

Hi,
I’m really struggling trying to get my local host to be certified secure so that i can develop properly. I have tried a number of solutions but the most promising looks like using OpenSSL to generate a new certificate, so that’s what i’ve tried, to no avail. Does anyone have a really good source I can use to go through generating one with OpenSSL again but make sure its correct or have any other suggestions?

Here’s a good resource. And if you’re not familiar with them, Let’s Encrypt is very useful when you eventually put apps on the wider internet.
