Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon user here.
I just upgraded my PC from an Asrock z97m pro 4 mobo +4790k CPU to a ryzen 5900x and Asrock x570 taichi mobo (current BIOS p3.40 which is dated August 2020)
All I did was just plug in my Intel 750 800GB pciexpress ssd (LM20.1 was installed into it already) into the new build got all booted fine.
Problem is in Openshot 2.5.1 when trying to play back a video clip…it now does this stupid auto -sound skipping/fast as well as the video playing itself is auto fast forwarded too.
This never happened with my older build.
So I’m think either it could be any of or combo of the following:
-
The realtek ALC 1220 Audio just won’t place nice with Open shot …( ***note. I have to manually set the sound output source in VLC media player to Alsa to ensure movie playback audio didn’t skip or lag since this upgrade also) in LM20.1 Cinnamon…+++ I have yet to test my new build in Win 10 pro 64 using Open shot to see if it’s Linux mint’s built into-kernel sound driver that us the problem involving my Realtek Alc 1220 sound chip set…
-
Maybe this version or any version of Openshot doesn’t like my audio chip set versus the Intel one I had on that aseock z97m pro 4 micro axt mobo.
-
Perhaps it’s the fact that Openshot is trying to use an audio chip set that isn’t there anymore and I should just install LM20.1 Cinnamon…fresh start given its different audio hardware I’m dealing with now.
I also tried Kernel 5.4.whatever, 5.8.whatever,both stock via Linux Mint’s update Manager, and 5.10.17 via Ubuntu mainline updater . still same problem.
I’ll upload my inxi terminal command results and any other command results needed when I get back home in a few hours.
