Openmediavault fails to "detect disks"

Hello
Once again I’m struggling with my server.
I installed omv 5.4.1 on my testserver. Mainboard Gigabyte GA88, AMD A8 5800k, some 16GB RAM, Corsair Force 120GB
While the first installation worked without any issues, now I can’t install it because it fails at the “detect disk” state.
The internet recommends to “first install fedora then add omv”, but it worked yesterday, so I’m confused.
I tried:
-checked if the SSD gets detected (it does)
-swap around boot priorities
-using a new 1TB SSD
-using a 140GB HDD
-using a 32GB USB drive
-trying to use an older ISO 5.3.9
-using legacy boot
Does anyone know this issue? Thank you very much for any help you can offer.

edit: seems like I’m rather dumb. Forcing UEFI Boot fixed it, gg

I don’t think you can have OMV on Fedora, I am pretty sure it is Debian only.

Hello
Since I haven’t tried that I don’t really know.
This Reddit user claims that that was his solution though:

OMV should be a great system. I’ve tried it many times over the years, both using it’s own installer, and putting it on top of Debian. It never manages to run for more than a few weeks without totally blowing up and becoming unusable.

I mean, I’m not a linux noob, I have set up all this stuff manually before. OMV was supposed to be a way of quickly spinning up a NAS, but without fail it’s ended up a waste of two days.

It’s really bizarre, but that’s my experience. YMMV.
