I haven't edited video in years so i've no idea what im talking about. Have you done much editing with 4k on Blender? How does it handle multiple 4k clips and scrubbing through them?
Blender seems like one of the better options for video editing on GNU/Linux from the offerings ive seen.
Btw, what distro are you using?

I used Ubuntu gnome 15.10, and blender ii s reallygood. There is some amount of work you have to do to get it working to your preferences but once you do that it's as good as paid software sometimes even better.
