Open AI

Hello, I’m 15 and highly interested in open AI currently. Unfortunately, I’m always crunched for time; so if anyone is willing to guide me the AI development process, and to help and further my understanding of such programs, I would be extremely grateful.

OpenAI is an organization. If you want to get into machine learning something like TensorFlow is more appropriate.
Here’s their getting started guide: https://www.tensorflow.org/get_started/get_started

You’ll need to learn the basics of python first though.

thanks

Also I don’t know where do you study and how good with math you are, but you will need it. I recommend solving a few problems with the genetic algorithm ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_algorithm ) and after that with the Evolutionary algorithm ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolutionary_algorithm ) this will give you a very basic understanding of how self learning AI works. It does not require Calculus or some complex math to understand but you will have to read a lot and also experiment.
A good starting place to try solve some problems will be a high level math based language in my opinion, such as : matlab or octave ( matlab is a paid program, so you might want to use octave which is free ). This will give you some insight into functional programing ( which is used in machine learning ).

After that learning a programing language is necessary, and it will depend on what exactly you want to learn/do next.

dang thanks ill get on it right away

Good advice from @anon5644329. As another alternative to octave and matlab there’s also numpy, which has the advantage of being embedded into python, the same language used for TensorFlow. This way you only have to learn a single programming language.

ok these are some great tips

What I hate most about OpenAI was them having it versus Dendi in Dota 2. He’s like the top 10 player 4-5 years ago and not even in top from and not even in top 50 top players in dota and they made him go vs. Open AI. Immediately afterwards 50 players beat OpenAI in 1v1 game. Gotta love how they promote it since they can’t do 5 humans vs. 5 bots yet. Though I do admire AI beating the top Go players, I was hoping it to take longer. But now I know the math on “Go” it’s kinda fairly easy.
