Oops RAM not on QVL

Hey recently i upgraded my cpu/mobo/ram. i decided to get the ASUS Maximus IX Hero and G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB 4000Mhz along with a 7700k.

Anyway its been about 4 years since i built or even up grade a pc. I didn't even think to look up Qualified Vendor List for the mobo.

QVL for mobo:

The ram i got:

Is it still posible to overclock it in the bios? Will they come out with a bios that will support the ram? or should a sell the ram and get a kit that is listed in the QVL. Everything runs fine but the 2133Mhz

-ps I got a decent amout of hardware that id like to get rid of. any other recommendation other than ebay/craigslist?

QVL in case of simple desktop computers with regards to MB/RAM usually means: among all gazillion possibilities we tested only those on the list.

In most cases of MB/RAM more important is max spec of RAM and MB. And 4000Mhz is on the list (based on info on ASUS site).

There is one thing though, anything above 2133 (maybe just a little higher on newest chipsets - do not know) is officially overclock. Usually BIOSes do not do O.C unless they are told to do so. I think since you did not mentioned XMP it is probably is your case. When you enebale XMP in BIOS it will read the XMP profile from memory and try to apply it. Sometimes memory can store more than one XMP profile.
