until game of the century is released. put your money aside now. i already did.
the last one was the most fun ive ever had in an online shooter. bottom line, id delivers. i will be playing this in multiplayer quite often, join me why dont you?
When some of you guys get it, and uploads youtube video, it probably makes me want to have it aswell. And then I end up playing it for 2 weeks and no more.. Juuuuuuuuuust like Killing Floor
wolf has a history of being such an innovative game. wolf 3d was the first FPS (you fought robo-hitler, what other game lets you fight robo-hitler?), RTCW was really good for its time too... i dont remember flame throwers looking that good in games before that. it also had really fun multiplayer, think TF2 but in a WW2 setting. sure there are plenty of class based online shooters now, but there wasnt back then. Enemy Territory added some objective based online "mini campaigns" and an XP system. i cant wait to seewhat features they bring out in the new one, the veil powers obviously being one of them.
do yourself a favor, go find a copy of RTCW and go through the single player campaign. the graphics are going to look dated but if you can get past that its a really fun FPS with lots of bad guys, a few puzzels here and there, and really cool boss battles. but the best part would have to be the goofy german voice acting and conversations you could overhear if you sneak up on them.
Woah? He actually liked that pile of shit? Anyways, there's no point of ever getting hyped about a game anymore. So when this is out and theres reviews, then maybe I'll care.
So it seems they've kept it very similar to the old one. The class system has been reduced to only 3 classes now (no more cover ops or lieutenant... engineers dispense ammo now). theyve kept all the "uber" weapons out of multiplayer like id hoped for, and it seems the viel powers are going to be balanced, so you wont have players slowing down time or seeing through walls or anything, the veil energy meter works like the old energy meter. dispensing ammo or healthpacks will drain it, im sure firing certain powerful weapons like the panzerfaust will also drain it as to act like a cooldown period. the bar slowly recharges over time.
there will also be achievement unlockables, somewhat like BF2. new weapons and perks for you. however they wont be any more powerful than the starting weapons, and you can only have one perk active at a given time (ex. faster reload time or improved accuracy?) so all you item whores will have to learn how to play and not rely on overpowered weapons.
now heres the best part.
ready?
HEALTH PACKS!
if you didnt already catch on by the fact that there is a "medic" class, i just wanted to point it out. no more CoD/halo 3 gayness auto regen. if you get hurt the only way to heal is if a medic gives you some health packs. or you die and respawn. but either way, im very glad to hear that if i shoot a guy and he manages to get away, i will know that it wasnt for nothing, and unless he finds a medic someone else on my team will probably pick him off real easily.
Ill be going to walmart tomorrow to pick this up, see you online.
I'll definitely try it out, I think I played Return To Castle Wolfenstein on PC ages ago, but only for about 30 mins, it was fun, maybe I'll have to pick it up again.
