On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 Review (PC)

Another review, although this is a shot in the dark, havent really played this game much. also nowt like listening to Daughtry while writing reivews!!

Story...

The game is set in 1922 New Arcadia, A huge gear-driven robot and its minions (steel children) turn the heros Gabe and Tychos world upside down with the help of Anne - Claire, which spans over 3 Eps (So far) sorry thats all i know so far, am not very far into the game :\

Gameplay...

Here though ino what its like :)

Ok so imagine FF6 series its got the same type of combat, turn based action, and its story driven, and to be honest in todays market its a fresh take on a game and thats the reason why i got it, although i havent even killed 1st boss yet i love the combat although my 1st games where final fantasy series and i loved them, so this game attracted me and memories :)

The combat is turn based, if you never played a turn based game you take it in turns to attack, normally a party of 3 attack another team (The enemy) they choose to attack or heal, but the enemy can attack also but the game tells you when that is above, so this helps with the tactical side, but they attack random people.

Its not just as simple as attack attack attack, you must plan what you need to do, exploit weakness so some enemies have low resistance to fire, etc,

You must also plan the heals, if your party gets low on HP you may need to use a potion to heal a party member or revive them just keep an eye on the enemy and you will be fine.

The world is not open ended, its on a path that brances out when you hit a specific story point, but these are normally for extra fights for XP or loot.

Graphics!!!!

Its 8 bit what more do you want, and not the minecraft style.. its the good old classic style back from the Final Fantasy games of old (FF6 and before) and i enjoy this, brings back memories of old games from my PS1 days

The graphics are different from the other games in the series, but i like the 8 Bit games and any indie game that has it, i hope they keep this style.

Overall...

I cant give a super accurate rating with the story included so ill update that when i do but still for it bringing back memories, and the combat/graphics its getting an 8/10 on that alone am sure it will be higher soon! :)

I picked this up for £4 on steam and i got 2 games free with it, im unsure if that is still happening but pick it up, even if you dont like it your supporting devs!! always support devs!!
