So my graphics card only has so many video outputs, if you use a second graphics card and crossfire can you use that card's video outs as well?
anyone able to explain to me how to get more than just the first graphics card to output video?

My understanding about how crossfireX works, is that when in CrossfireX configuration the only the first or the top card can output an image, the second one is just used in calculations. so that means that you would have to connect all monitors to the first card instead of spreading them across two cards. To use the display outputs on both cards at the same time, you would need to disable crossfire.
Oh I see. Hmm... Lets say I was to do crossfire, could i buy a cheaper third card that isn't in crossfire and use that to output to displays? there isn't anything keeping that from working, right?
as in I do crossfire in a game over a few displays or one connected to the top card, but I could then have the extra displays be output from that cheaper non xfire card. This is something that would work?
Yes as far i can think of there is nothing keeping that from working but also before you buy some cheap video card make sure that your motherboard and power supply can support 3 video cards.
You can chain multiple monitors using DisplayPort.
