On H265/HEVC as a Viable Alternative to H264

Useful information. I have a question though, when I play H265 encoded video it runs fine and the same video lags in my friend’s laptop. What causes this to happen? There’s definitely something that is not supporting this.

I’m going to guess with at least a little certainty that it’s hardware vs software decoding.

I suggested him PotPlayer that offered H/W and S/W on front, both didn’t work for him.
