OLED monitors from korean's soon?

LG/Samsung seem to love selling panels to the crossovers and shimians of the world. Does anyone have a guess when we will start to see cheap(ish) OLED panels?

It's currently about $5000 for a 25" 1080p OLED monitor...so..dunno

lol Sony always charges too much, adding professional is just another way to quadruple the regular price tag too.

Well sure, but there's probably something holding it back, maybe it's as simple as really low production rates, otherwise people would have started making OLED PC displays en mass

Actually I realized. The burn in makes it impossible for now to have OLED panels for our desktops :/

Its gonna be a long long time.

even if you could get an oled monitor cheaply it wouldn't be worth the money because it would have a shorter life span.

Well 3440*1440 ultra wide has been around long enough as a standard tech display spec but I have not seen any of the Korean variants with 3440*1440.

So.I guess a while, like years? But I have no idea. I hear there are issues scaling them up and getting reliable production returns. There was talk of only 10-20% returns on the early ones for phones. They are not easy to make.

My Galaxy Note 2 with one of the first oled screens is still going strong, posting from it as I type. No visible degradation so far.

samsung puts reserve blue pixels in their oled screens so you won't notice the loss of contrast over time. it's no problem to do on a phone but on a bigger screen it adds to the cost and the wear becomes more noticeable.

If i remember correctly they used a blue pixel that as the size of the red and green combined in the rgb cluster.

I got t see mine under a microscope for fun the matrix is pretty cool looking.
