CPU architecture is in a constant change, and surely the x86 architecture wont last forever, however I do not see the ARM architecture replacing it.

If he goes with the 4670k then the price on the rest of the components will no doubt jump up. It's already going to go up by $100+ for the 4670k over the 8350. Just something to consider.
