what they failed to mention was that these consoles don't run at 1080p, and will only push maybe 30 fps in far cry 4. Plus that screenshot looks no better than the graphics in Far Cry 3, so there hasn't been any change in the game engine. This particular game engine does not scale well with resolution, so it favors lower res consoles over higher res PC gaming. Its plausible that the consoles can run Far Cry 4 at 720p or 856p or 900p or whatever weird res they run at on ultra at 30 fps.
Now if they claim the consoles are running ultra at 1080p 60 fps I will be swinging the BS hammer into their faces.
My thoughts exactly. Althoiugh I do have some scenarios in mind.
1) They will probably go down the path of the Order 1866 devs and say "No, no, no, 60 FPS will ruin the aesthetics and cinematic feel... the human eye can't see over 24 frames......... films are filmed in 24 FPS...... ad nauseum"
2) Or they will cap the whole thing at the very bleeding edge of what the consoles can do across all formats and say "See we told you the console versions can match the PC version on Ultra"
3) I have a sneaking suspicion that if Ubisoft get away with this and no doubt they will, other publishers will take note and follow suit. I might as well sell all my gear and buy a 2 generation old CPU and a two generation old GPU/S and still have oodles of horsepower left over.
4) Goodguy Ubisoft, "You don't need to spend ALL that money on quality components to play our games at eyebleeding quality, hell with the money you save on your rig you could buy our WHOLE backcatalogue, pffftt who needs an ultra portal to another dimension rig anyway", see they're saving us money.

Ultra high PC graphics = 800 x 600 with no AA or ambient occlusion, directx 9 and all at an insane 30fps!!

Better get yourself a new monitor as well, that 4K beast won't be able to refresh fast enough for the blazing framerates and input lag

Cross gen games always have the bow to the lowest common denominator. Plenty of websites will test farcry 4 really thoroughly to see if they come to the same conclusion ubisoft does.
