Main Rig:
Why you should not use DeIonised water (the stuff for car batteries, irons and so on you get at basically any supermarket) :
For my first watercooling loop, I used Mayhem's pastel red. While looking awesome for the first months, it started changing color (went from blood red to deep purple, no smoke on the water though). Probably cause my two EK CSQ 680 FC blocks corroded horribly. Stay away from EK, please (copper, no nickel plating). Now I decided to go for destilled water instead. While googling and asking around on the internet, basically I was convinced that it did not matter whether I used de-ionised or destilled water. Well, when I upgraded to X99, I thought I'd clean my blocks while I'm at it, and they were heavily corroded. I learned, that DI water, will take back it's ions from the copper and therefore corrode it. Even AquaComputer blocks, which, looked like new when the EK blocks had the feeling of sandpaper inside and were all black-ish. Bad choice.
Therefore I'll tear down the WC-Loop next time I sit on 600ish bucks I can easily spend and replace the Case (On-switch kinda broken), the CPU and the GPU cooler.

Just finished revising this:
Hi guys,
Looking for some help on deciding on what to go with here. I am building 2 machines, one for my wife and one for myself. These will be a heavy gaming build with some light internet browsing sometimes. So keep in mind whatever parts I buy, I am buying 2 of them >.>
My goal is to have some quality parts, good performance with a mild overclock on the CPU/GPU. Also trying to stick with
Here are the specs I am looking at right now.
CPU: i5 4690K
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A LGA 1150
Powersupply: Corsair HXi 750w Platinum
RAM: HyperX Fury (White)
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
HDD: 2TB WD Black
Case: NZXT S340 (White) (Bought Already)
GPU: EVGA 04G-2983-KR GTX 980 Superclocked
I am undecided on CPU/GPU cooling yet. As far as those parts I have listed, is there anything anyone sees that is going to conflict? Or I can save money on? Or any suggestions at all?
Theme:
My wife's build is going to be Purple/White. Mine is undecided yet, probably a 2-tone too. I will be doing some minor case mods and painting to assist with the color scheme. I will also post pics and stuff throughout my build.
Thanks guys!
