Office 356 Autosave only to OneDrive?

I have noticed that Office 365 has a grayed out Autosave option in the title bar. From what I’ve read it only works with OneDrive but since I don’t have it configured I can’t set it.

Wtf?

Can someone confirm if the normal auto save feature is disabled if OneDrive isn’t configured?

Autosave is for onedrive or sharepoint, hover over it and it’ll tell you.

It will save autorecover info regardless on your local computer.

Right, those are different (auto-save/recovery), thanks for clearing that up for me.
