Odd CPU Turbo Speed(s) On Intel 10th Gen

Well, this ought to make for an interesting topic this time. But then again, I’m sure others have posted about situations similar to this, so… :man_shrugging:

Anyway, I recently upgraded my personal gaming rig just for a little “future-proofing” & frankly, because I was a little uncomfortable having a CPU without Hyper-Threading. :grimacing: For anyone interested, I’ll leave a PCPartPicker link showing the specs/components of my upgraded rig: System Builder - Core i7-10700K 3.8 GHz 8-Core, GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING OC 3X, Eclipse P600S ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker

So far, I have only noticed my 10700K boosting as high as 4.66 GHz. (I actually ran Cinebench R23 the other day just for the sake of benchmarking & I’m quite certain that’s as high as I’ve seen it go. I honestly haven’t noticed however, how high it boosts for single-core loads.) Intel’s official page says it can reach 5.1 GHz as the max Turbo Speed from what I remember. Also, for anyone wondering, I haven’t really done any in-depth tinkering in the BIOS. In fact, the only things I changed were making sure my Cryorig heatsink wasn’t being detected as an AIO, & I enabled my ram’s XMP profile; that’s it. So if anyone is wondering, I’m running at “stock speeds”; I technically haven’t overclocked my system. But given what I have noticed so far, it makes me wonder why my CPU isn’t boosting up as high as it can go.

So yeah, I’d be really interested to hear what you guys have to say about this. If any of you happen to need more details or wish to ask me anything, please, feel free to just shoot & I’ll get right back with you! Thanks in advance!
