OBS is black screening with Gamecapture on Black Flag and other Direct X 11 Titles :(

I've asked on the OBS forum and am getting no help.. am hoping someone here may have a clue whats going on..

I've followed OBS guide on their site to the letter and yeah.. the games, at least for Direct X 11, are not working.

Anyone got a clue?  :( I just ordered a Webcam because I want to start trying to use Twitch as a serious thing but with half of my games not capturing I'm quite scared.

this...this happens so often with OBS. OBS has a mind of its own and the sooner you acknowledge this the easier it will be to get along with. It decides if it wants to cooperate or not. I have had OBS work fine with a game one day, crash the game the next, blackscreen gamecap the day after that. Then work perfectly fine again. If it works with DirectX9, then you should be able to get directx11. I have always had problems with DirectX10 games. Wait for the next OBS update and see if that fixes it.

also, what are your encoding settings? And are you using a hotkey to start gamecap?

I cant make heads or tails of the log, this has all my settings in it though.

HOpefully the screenshot is detailed enough.obs log

disable windows aero and see if that fixes it

Yeah I've tried that too and there was no change.

I have noticed that borderless fullscreening helps most games but only on games that allow the option.  Black FLag for example cant be borderless fullscreened

go into OBS. Find your game capture source and right click it and select properties. Then check the box that says anti-cheat compatibility hooking. Also click on use hotkey and set it to the + key or something else that isn't anywhere near keys normally used for gaming. Now hit preview stream, and fire up a game. Then hit whatever key you picked as your hotkey, and the game capture should show up in your stream preview. If this doesn't work, then you lost the OBS lottery and will have to wait until the next update.

:( still no capture.

decided to get Xsplit for 3 months, am enjoying it far more than OBS now.  Think I will stick with Xsplit.
