NZXT just revealed the Source 340, an awesome looking budget case that keeps the design theme of the H440 going while offering decent support for water cooling.
It's not without it's faults but the price is 70$ and that kinda justifies some of the drawbacks. Still, at this price, it offers some features that even more expensive cases lack.
Also, it comes in both black and white which should keep everyone happy.
Found some "live" shots of the S340 at the Insomnia i52 event taken by the guys at eteknix.com (never heard of them either :P). Check out their post for extra "live" photos: http://www.eteknix.com/exclusive-photos-of-new-nzxt-source-340-chassis/
looks clean, but I would like to see a video review of it so I can get a better idea of what kind of cable management it provides. I also like the aesthetics of the case, its sharp and functional looking.
I have been looking for a case in the lower end price range that didn't look completely terrible, and this might be the one, as long as it isn't full of plastic.
I'm sure the reviews will start coming in soon enough, as for the construction, they say it's 90% steel. (guess they wanna make weightlifters out of us) :P
Wow, really high level looking stuff.$70 may drive competitive pricing from other vendors. This has to be the best looking liquid cooling case i've seen for under $100 which seems to be their intent. NZXT is just getting ballsy lately!
My only gripe is that there's only one 120mm fan mount on the top but they probably have a reason. Also I'm kinda disappointed about no more MATX cases from NZXT.
awesome. I guess I know what case I will be buying this year to replace my current case (a 50 dollar steel case with zero cable management and jury rigged to have better airflow)
Only 4 fan locations, with the two at the front behind a solid panel and a mesh? Yeah... no.
What's with the piece of metal between the front radiator and the motherboard tray, the one with the NZXT logo on it? Is it its sole purpose to prevent you from doing push pull with the radiator? EDIT: it might be removable so this point could be moot.
It looks to me that the NZXT Source 530 is a better case in every way, except aesthetics. EDIT: and the $20 price difference, duh.
Why not put hard removable hard drive cages instead? I guess it's because of the price. But if it's removable, I guess it's not that bad. I'll edit my post.
i can't wait to see a hardware cannucks review. i LOVE their case reviews. my only concern, is that it looks to have even less airflow than the h440..... i mean, is it just that top vent in the front?
