NZ rig. Around $1300USD + 3x 1440p

Hey guys,

I'm looking to build a rig in New Zealand. I'll be importing screens and maybe GFX due to the huge price difference over here.

Currently my build is this: http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/2Lt0A - Need to pick a graphics card.

With 3x X-STAR DP2710LED 27" http://www.ebay.com/itm/Matte-FREE-EXPRESS-X-STAR-DP2710LED-27-2560x1440-Samsung-PLS-Panel-Monitor-/330932578190?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item4d0d1e678e

I'm looking to game on the center 1440p and program/work on the other two. If its viable playing games on low on all 3 screens that would be great, but I'm not looking to build a powerhouse.

Will this 6 core be sufficient? What graphics card will I need to pump out 3 1440p's at a reasonable price? Are 3x 1440p's even worth the investment for a workstation?

Cheers

I would try this: http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/2LAoR

As far as 3x1440p for a workstation, I don't see the need. 2x1440p should be plenty. 1 screen for working on (centered) the other for holding reference material (offset). Unless you have played with tri-screen before and liked it I wouldn't recommend it. If you're dead set, consider grabbing 3x1080p screens instead and spend the extra money on a better graphics card.

Have you tried gaming on two screens? its horrible. He wants to game on three screens.

Please get a less expensive case and motherboard, no need for the fractal design R4. You could save around $150 by changing those two things.

Hell no on the motherboard! you need a good motherboard and that is a great price to performance ratio board!

My suggestion wasn't clear. 2 screens for workstation, game on centered screen only.

He said he wants to game on three screens, though.

Ah , Correct me if i am wrong, but what the op is suggesting is going to take more than a six core and 650 ti. Like alot more. It struggle to run 3x1080p well at decent fraps kind of thing.
