Hey all,
I’m doing a NAS build with a Z690D4ID from ASRock Rack.
This board comes with 3x Oculink ports:
1 Ocu_1 PciEx4 or 4x Sata
2 Ocu_2 PciEx4 or 4x Sata
3 Ocu_3 PciEx4
I can use the first two ports as Sata without issues and all 8 HDDs show up.
I also wanted to use the extra Oculink port to add an SSD. I know there are Oculink>U.2 adapters as well as Oculink>M.2 adapters and aince I had some M.2 drives laying around I thought of buying an adapter and adding it to the board. Bought a NFHK Oculink SFF-8612 SFF-8611 to M.2 Kit
Here’s the issue though. The device on Ocu_3 doesn’t show up on the BIOS or any OS.
I thought it could the cable, I heard Oculink cables were directional but I’ve tried multiple cables and configurations and none worked.
My idea was to have one M.2 as the boot drive and the other two (board connectors) as a fast storage pool on True NAS. For that to work I need Ocu_3 to work though.
Has anyone faced similar issues with Oculink?
