I have been saving up to buy an Nvidia shield, but want to be able to build a pc that can support it, while at the same time be a great gaming pc for streaming. I play mainly BF3, crysis3, Dota 2, Bl2, and might start guild wars 2. My current budget is $2000. I need the 8350 for streaming, and need an Nvidia card for once, because of the shield. Is this an ok build guys, feel free to make suggestion, or new ideas.
The Adata ssd is fine, Logan likes them as well as Kingston and has a review of the xpg sx900 (which I purchased based on his review). The 670 is just fine as well, the 680 isn't really a huge jump in performance. Since you have a bit of your budget left, you could look at going with a water cooled set up. Maybe get a Swiftech H220 with a couple of Noctua fans for an all in one solution.
Will it fit in the tempest 410? I know the kraken x60 does, and also, Is that a good 670, I was split between the evga signature2 series and the asus, is the EVGA better for my build?
And also with the money leftover, would it be worth it to get an asus dx or creative z soundcard for my dt770s?
If the x60 is compatible the H220 definately should be as it is a dual 120mm rad and the x60 is a dual 140mm. Either of those gpus will be a good card. I have the Asus version of the 680 (very similar cooler set up) and it cools the card extremely well even with my overclock and isn't noisy at all. EVGA has a great reputation though. That is just a coin toss imo. I can't help with soundcards, never had one so I hope someone can jump in and help with that. Good luck.
Edit: Sorry just read your latest post. I would look at the Corsair H110 in that case.
Thanks guys, I still help on the soundcard, Asus Xonar DX, or Creative z, maybe the zx. Does anyone have one of these, or have used one. And thx for the idea for using a corsair h110 with noctua fans. Also im going to stick with the evga 670, since its cheaper and seems as good as the asus.
The H110 is a dual 140 radiator so you will want 2 Noctua NF-A14 FLX (the square ones not the round ones). Shouldn't have an issue with it fitting with 2 fans.
