Nvidia or AMD GPU with intel core i5 3570k

Hey all,

I would like to know if the Nvidia cards or ATI cards go better with my intel core i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz. Once that has been decided then what brand of card do I want to get because they all have thier different types of coolers. I have a very well ventilated case so I can probably have a card that will run fairly warm.

What does everyone suggest?

AMD and Nvidia will both work great. It just depends on your budget really.

Your best bet is probably going to be a Radeon HD 7970 then.

I agree with Vortex. It all depends on what you are doing, playing and what your budget is!

Either card works fine with processor of any brand. 7970 is the fastest single GPU card out there right now, only a few frames more than a GTX 680 but the difference in price makes up for it. 7970 gets a vote from me.

Ok then would a HIS Radeon HD7970 that has a core clock speed of 925Mhz with 3GB GDDR5 of memory at 5500Mhz for $399 AUD

i would say dont get a ATI card like u said in your description, it may be a little outdated. also it depened on if u will just be playing games in which case i would go with AMD or are u going to be doing some work in 3d rendering/video editing/or photoshop, in which case i would suggest nvidia

The're very similar but for the cost the 7970 is your best bet.

Ok well because I will just be gaming I will go with AMD (ATI), thanks too everyone for thier suggestions.
