NVIDIA is not gonna bother fixing the 970 issue

Nvidia promised a update earlier this week on the drivers front , then they said they had lied and didnt bother.

All I know is that I was going to upgrade my 770 to a 970 but now I'm going for a 290x or whatever similarly priced card may soon come out from AMD.

As far as I know, it has to do with the way the Maxwell architecture was implemented, and they can't "Fix it" with drivers. The only thing they could do would be to offer a discounted 980 for customers who are dissatisfied with the 970.
