NVIDIA Geforce GT 740 Compatibility?

Well, if you absolutely must have a single slot card not really much I can do. The 750 and 750 Ti are good and don't require much power if you can do a dual slot GPU.

I looked into the 750, and really wanted to get it, but dual slot GPU is almost impossible with my current motherboard and case setup. The only single slot cards I could find were a bit to pricey. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127836

I did find this one though: http://www.amazon.com/Asus-GTX750-PHOC-1GD5-ASUS-Graphics-Cards/dp/B00IB9P1GK/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1394093564&sr=8-7&keywords=asus+750&tag=hardfocom-20
Seems to be cheap. Not sure about it though. Its a single slot, but the heat sync hangs over the side, and probably wouldn't fit.

What kind of case/motherboard do you have?
And if you want a single slot 750 that is about the price you'll pay.

That one doesn't hang off as much and is a little cheaper.

"Form factor: uATX" All system specs can be found here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01154933 (Yes, its old...)
How the heck? I could not for the life of me find any single slot 750's. How do you find these so easily? Haha!

It is a magical site. You can put in what GPU you want, how many slots, and then sort by price.

Umm you can totally run a dual slot GPU in there....It is a midsize ATX case. I have a similar, slightly newer, HP prebuilt with basically the same case that my parents use. It has pretty much the same case and it has a dual slot card (7870) in it.

Yes, but the second PCI-E X1 is taken up by the network card, so I can't use a dual slot GPU. The only free PCI slot on the motherboard it a PCI-1.

EDIT: Heard of the site, but haven't used it. Thanks for the link!!!

Wat. Okay so your motherboard has four slots. The first is a PCIE X16. GPU goes in there. It covers up the second PCIEX1 slot. Network card in the second slot and nothing in the last PCI slot.

Here is a picture... GPU Is single slot, and no other card covers up a slot.

Ohh. DIdn't know you had a TV Tuner. Personally, I'd ditch the tuner, unless you use it a lot, or the netwrok card. I mean really a cable is better.

I'm just gonna leave the tuner for the mean time. Not sure what to do with it. I use the network card for Wi-fi though. The Asus single slot card may fit, just not sure. the over hang looks to be able to go around the Network card.

No not at all. That just means it is NewEgg Premier eligible. Premier is similar to Amazon's Prime. Gives you free shipping and some other benefits if you are a member.

@DerKrieger Alright. Just got confused.

So, go with the 740 1GB if I want budget & single slot, and 750/Ti if dual slot. Correct?

The 750 is available as a single slot. The Zotac I posted should work well. It is a better card but it is more money.

I'll post a interior picture of my PC. The card has a slight overhang all the way across. That may push on the network card. Just give me a second for the picture.

Save up a little more for a single slot gtx750.
eg. http://www.gainward.com/main/vgapro.php?id=932 - will be worth the hunt for one.

It should be okay.
Really though just take the TV tuner out and throw it away. They are pretty much useless IMO. Would save a lot of trouble.
