I know ZFS likes having very direct disk access. So I see why you are trying to pass it as PCI device rather than as a whole raw (or vfio) disk.
Does anyone have experience with ZFS in kvm using controller passthrough vs emulated controller? It would be interesting to know the performance/ reliability difference.
yep, thats exactly the reason why I wanted passthrough. Now that I’ve seen myself that zfs on linux works great and is way more easy to use than I expected, I’ll stick to the normal Manjaro kernel with working drivers and a good performing raidz2 array
