Nvidia 970 problem

So my friend bought a 970 from amazon, and as soon as he installed nvidia drivers, the gpu fans start to spin at 100% ; and when he loads something like EVGA PrecisionX it says that they are at 34% can anyone help ?

Uninstall the drivers, and re-install. If that does not work, then try using a different version of the drivers. Also check to see the profile assigned to the card in Precision. If precision was installed before the new graphics card, it could be applying different settings. I would un-install precision, and then install the newest version.

he ( we ) did all that like 3-4 times
and it's a fresh win install

So even when you manually adjust the profile it still revs at 100%? Also do you have fan curve set in Precision?

I moved a post to an existing topic: Can you be more respectful?

try manually overriding the fan curve settings with msi afterburner
make a custom fan curve and apply it

just try any form of manual fan speed change, to see if you can do even that

he just got refunded by amazon, and he will buy a new card.. and he's gonna try to bios flash the old one
