Ntldr is missing

I Have this old pc that when I start up windows XP is has this NTLDR is missing message. I looked inside it and the cables are all connected right. help plz

a quick google revealed that this might also mean a damaged IDE cable, or a dying hard drive.

you might have also made the mistake of leaving a floppy in the pc when booting, if thats the case taking it out does the trick.

Chances are you'll need to reinstall the OS or repair it. Boot into Linux first from a live CD and check and see if the hard drive is OK. Then proceed to do repairs.
