This is my first attempt at anything Linux related so I'm pretty new to this.
I'm attempting to dual boot Ubuntu (14.04.2 LTS) and Windows (8.1) and I've already prepared my hard drive by shrinking the volume and making free space for Ubuntu and I made a bootable usb drive of Ubuntu and all that works great but when the usb drive containing Ubuntu boots and I run the installation I get to the screen where it asks you what kind of installation you would like to do, it doesn't have the option that says: Install Alongside Windows (or something along those lines). Instead it says: No other Operating System detected on this computer. I've seen the Install Alongside Windows option on a lot of different dual booting guides so I don't know if I did something wrong or not? And I wanna know if I choose the Something Else option and manually partition the free space myself will dual booting work fine?
Thanks, in advance everyone.
