Not enough standoffs with my case!

I just bought this package, and am building it right now:

The Redbone case only came with 7 standoffs, and the motherboard takes 8.

What do I do? I'm pretty concerned right now; anything I can do?

Well, first off, calm down. Secondly, all the screw aren't necessarly needed to hold the mother board down. Try and leave out the one on the middle right. It isn't that necessary.

The one in the middle is one that you would really want to keep. The stress is going to go there almost immediately.

If I were you, I'd leave the middle one on the right side out, if you seriously don't have enough. Double check, though. You probably just can't find it.

no the case manual said it only came with 7 and i count 7. im just really freaking out because this is my first build and i really don't want to short out my board because i don't have any replacement parts. middle right you said?

Yeah; not having enough standoffs won't short your board. As long as you don't want to put a huge heatsink on it, or anything, missing that one won't really matter.

what if not all the standoff screws screw in all the way? some are going in all the way and some are going in like 1 turn

Chill out. It's not THAT big of a deal.

First off, I find it difficult to believe a case capable of support full sized ATX came with any fewer than 10 stand offs, but shit happens.

Check with the package contents in the case manual. If it is suppose to come with more stand offs then were packaged, contact the case manufacturer, Rosewill.

Having all standoffs, while strongly recommended, isn't 100% necessary. I'm probably only using 6 stand-offs in my case with a full sized ATX board because I got lazy from all the re-wiring and re-application of thermal paste I've done throughout the years. The purpose of the standoffs is to prevent the board from making contact with the case (which can short out the board).  As long as you have enough stand offs for that you should be fine. You can either proceed with the build, or wait for Rosewill to send you more standoffs.

I believe some motherboards come with their own stand-offs, but I'm 100% sure. All I remember is that I had a lot of standoffs left over after doing a few builds.

Make sure you're inserting them at a 90 degree angle, so they are not going to strip.

ok let me try that

ok i'm going to try to put it in
