I have a asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0 and the northbridge is the warmest part I need help finding a cooling solution for it. I also have some cash to burn so any other upgrade ideas besides led please suggest.

Could just try replacing the paste on it's heatsink, otherwise just attach a small fan to it in some manner.
I'd suggest what @Streetguru has suggested, as well as increasing your cases airflow. The NB is normally passively cooled just fine so something is wrong, either the paste is bad and not transferring aiding in heat transfer as well as it should or your case doesn't have sufficient airflow
i have 3 noctua 140mm fans at the top and back exhausting and 4 nzxt 140mm fan pulling in the front. so i believe I have sufficient air flow. its not over heating at all id just like to get it a little cooler some how just wondering if there was some kind of chipset cooler i could put on there
I don't believe that really exists, the most you could do is attempt to zip tie some small heatsink to it.
Although I think some motherboards have custom loop water cooling solutions for it.
yeah thats over kill its not that serious i might just try to rig a fan to it the intel boards from asus have motherboards with a fan on it allready dont understand why for amd they didnt do that
Rigging a little fan above it would be the easiest solution.
You could make your own one out of a small block of copper or aluminium, if you've got the tools, and you're really that bothered. It would be a fun little project.
Because it really doesn't matter?
http://www.xoxide.com/akust-fansnakestands.html or something like http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Spot-Cool-SpotCool-System/dp/B000I5KSNQ How effective they are ? Might help with a hotspot since you water cooled the cpu. Ideas? You might be able to snoop around and find other things ?
Airflow onto it is the best answer.
How HOT is the NB?
I don't remember its been a min since Ive checked but it was like 40 something Celsius when running prime 95 its just the hottest part of the computer its not over heating like I said im just being anal I guess
also I saw a picture on google images of a guy cooling his northbridge with a memory cooler fan setup thingy I wonder if he had to mod it to make it fit ill be mad if I spend 30 dollars on one and it wont fit
well A Sabertooth that overheats, that sounds realy weird to me.
By the way 40C on the Northbridge is pretty cool
You are totaly fine, start to worry wenn it exceeds 95C.
But i have never seen that happen on this particular board, even not with a FX9590.
Don't worry about any system temps < 50C where if I reported a board temp over 55C under load I'd be concerned. If you're confident in the paste that mounts the cooling block then try opening the side of the case and blowing a walmart fan at the mobo. If you see the reduction you want then it's time to look at your airflow. I have a cooler over my memory that helps a little. As the humidity and ambient temps rise for summer time so does the operating temps of your computer. If you are using the ASUS overclocking features, increasing voltage is going to make those board temps soar.
I remember seeing a spot cooler. It was basically a fan on a bendable stick that you plug into a fan header and point at whatever specific part you like to.keep it cool. Might be handy for what you need, not sure about the noise though.
Like this. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Antec-Spot-Cool-System-Cooler/dp/B000I5KSNQ
Yeah I already said its not overheating its just the hotest temp on the board I saw one guy on the ole interweb and he had a memory cooler over the north bridge when I look at it not quite the same size does any one know if this will work I was 'looking at the spot cooler also but it looks kinda cheap or outta place compared to everything else. That's why If I could just get a corsair memory cooler and mount it on there with out much trouble id like to go that route if possible.
Thank You for your suggestion tho if all else fails I will most likely just get the spot cooler.
