Can you guys name me some non-violent puzzle games that kids of a younger generation have ease to play?
I can only think of World of Goo and Machinarium. Maybe Portal 1 & 2 but I think the gameplay is too advanced for kids (<10 years) and the use of English language which my younger brothers do not understand.
I loved Wik - The fable of souls and Boulder Dash Treasure Pleasure when I was littler, they're great.
Also try the classics : Tetris, Sokoban, Grim Fandango, Beyond Good & Evil, Siberia, THE INCREDIBLE MACHINE (was named all caps, also it's the best, try Crazy Machines, they are 3D (but 2d perspective) and have the same gameplay, I liked them all, didn't try the newest one though, which let's you see in other perspectives).
I dislike the Zuma/angry birds/drawing spam of games that use the same mechanics. Crayon Physics was cool though.
