Hi i have a AMD 8320fx CPU, I have recently purchased a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler to pair with it and also have a Fractal Design R4 on the way.
This isn't that much of an issue but i am trying to create a silent build and would like to know if using the included ULNA (ultra low noise adapter/s) will affect temperatures on a minuscule or major scale. With my current set up without the ULNA adapters I am hitting an average of 30-35°C while stagnant and while gaming I usually hit 38-50°C depending on the game). Would anyone recommend me to use the ULNA adapters or stick with the current build without them?
(I would test this myself but my current thermal take case barely fits the CPU cooler and testing would require me to take my whole case apart and put it back together, that and I am not familiar with recommended CPU temps because I am newer to PC's) Yeah call me lazy :P
And thanks in advance for any comment or contributions -Yellow
I have the cooler on an Fx-6100 oc to 3.8 without the low noise adapter an it is near dead silent right now.
Does the 8320 really kick out that much heat? Mine idles at 20 to 25 I know it is only 6 core but the difference in idle seems very high.
I would go with out for now and see how loud it gets. You could always try it for a day with to check temps, it won't hurt the CPU. I doubt it would go much over 60 ant any point.
You might see a few degrees difference, but honestly don't worry about it. Get your new case, install it all with the LNA's and then see what you get. The LNA's snap on and off simple so you could always change back to the regular configuration. My guess is that you should be fine.
