No USB connectivity through KVM

KVM Model:

[Combo USB-C Power Delivery & DisplayPort 1.4 KVM - Triple Monitor]

USB Interface (5-gigabit or 10-gigbit):

5-Gigabit

Problem:

I bought my KVM about a year ago, and have tried to get it to work in my setup for most of that time.
Setup:
Custom stationary computer
Asus ROG Maximus hero XII motherboard
Intel i9 10900K
Win 11

Laptop
Lenovo X1 carbon
Win 11

My problem is that I cant for the life of me get usb to work om my stationary computer.
Ive tried connecting it with both USB C to C and A to C cables in both inputs, but none of them reacts to anything being plugged into the KVM.
Works fine on the laptop.
Ive updated the BIOS to latest firmware.
Tried turning on the tunderbolt setting in the BIOS
Bought an pci express expantion card to get new USB-C ports
Im at my wits end with this.

My tests have been with only the pc connection and a single usb device connected to the KVM to rule out any interferance with anything else. Ive also tried multiple USB devices and all of the ports on the KVM.

Hope you have some tip for me that can get me going on this. Ive tried looking on the forum for someone having the same issues but no luck. Im sorry if this has been answered before, Ive looked I promise.

Hmmmmm. Which port is this (KVM port 1 or 2)? Does this issue occur on both when connected to the PC?

Hi, yes the same happens on both ports.

No ideas for something I can try? Only idea I have left is buying a new computer :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sure there’s a work around/fix here. Have you tried plugging the KVM USB cable into one of the front USB ports on the PC? They’re connected to the motherboard through a header instead of the rear io, so they can have different drivers and whatnot. Lmk

Ive tried the front and back USB c’s as well as USB 3 ports on the motherboard. In addition ive bought a pci express expantion card with USB c on and tried that as well.

Hm, try emailing “wendell at level1techs dot com” for further troubleshooting maybe he can get it figured out for ya.

Thx I will.
