No SFP+ link with SwitchOS but it works with RouterOS

I decided to finally stop waiting for a POE version of the CRS310-8G+2S+IN and picked one up. I’m undecided on the Noctua swap as there has been fan whine.

However, whenever I’m booted into SwitchOS I can’t get any of my SFP+ connections to work. They immediately link up under RouterOS. I’ve updated both to the most recent versions. This is my first foray into the world of Mikrotik so I’m not sure if I’ve missed a configuration or not, but I haven’t changed anything other than the web UI IP and which OS to boot.

Try setting the link speed manually. I had problems with a Mikrotik switch auto-negotiating link speeds with Mellanox 10G cards over DAC cables.

Microtik CSS610-8G-2S+in not recognising know-good direct attach copper sfp+ ~ am I missing something

Heyas ~ I just picked up an 8 x 1Gb + 2 x 10Gb switch from Microtik to use in an office at the end of my network. To be clear, the direct-attach copper cable I am trying to use works perfectly well with other Microtik products namely the popular 4x 10Gb + 1 x 1Gb dumb switch they sell. I can plug in an SFP+ 10Gb baseT module and it works just fine…

I had tried that without any luck. At least on the Mikrotik side. I left the Mellanox on auto.
