Title says it all, don’t a TV. Looking for as cheap as possible a solution as possible, and as low latency as possible. Anyone have a tried and true solution for playing consoles on a laptop screen or am I gonna have to spring for a full avermedia portable card? 
You will need a capture card of sorts, yes.
Steam Deck has a proper display out, just so you know…

They both have proper display out, the issue is complete unavailability in my region, UK and Ireland get practically no Steam Deck stock for reasons.
